Mandarin Oriental Hotel
Mandarin Oriental Canouan is tucked away on a cliffside, like an island to itself.
The hotel is as secluded as it is eye-catching, with pops of pink and white around the grounds that create a vibrancy to match the glowing turquoise ocean that serves as the property’s backyard.
There are only 26 suites in the hotel, but also 13 villas, complemented by personal butlers. While the Caribbean has plenty of chic, removed-from-the-world accommodations, the Mandarin Oriental's hillside villas are in a league of their own, with infinity pools, patios and plenty of space in each.
For pampering, the resort’s SPA includes 10 hillside treatment rooms overlooking the bay and two overwater treatment bungalows—one of the only overwater spa experiences in the Caribbean— with a glass floor that reveals the Caribbean Sea.
Active travellers can take advantage of the resort's complimentary catamarans, stand-up paddle boards, or kayaks, or they can play a round of golf at the Jim Fazio–designed 18-hole course – pausing for sunset cocktails on the 13th hole.
